I'm a native southeastern Virginian with degrees in digital media, studio art, and psychology and have worked as a freelance designer of many applications for the last 10 years. Currently I'm on the prowl for an MLS program with the facilities to also study preservation and book repair. I intend to also finish my teaching licensure and teach graphic design in public schools some day. I stay busy playing video games (7 year veteran of Final Fantasy XI, Inii on Cerberus now), loling at XKCD, and learning new things because I'm one of those weirdos that finds it extremely rewarding.
My influences come from paper design and my non-assignment, non-work output is usually in the form of artists' trading cards and small collages. I draw from old woodblock prints, advertisements, and art nouveau when constructing pieces and doing figurative work. Most of it reflects a minimalist and experimental aesthetic, much like my taste in music with bands like The Dismemberment Plan and Minus The Bear at the top of my most played artists.
