Long ago, on a planet doomed by internal combustion engines, a set of parent used their model rocket kit to fashion a spaceship to send their small baby to a hopefully more technological planet. This baby's name was Jeff. Basically, there are three equations to figure out how powerful your rocket engines are Max velocity v, the velocity at burnout = q*[1-exp(-x*t)] / [1+exp(-x*t)], Altitude reached at the end of boost = [-M / (2*k)]*ln([T - M*g - k*v^2] / [T - M*g]), and Additional height achieved during coast = [+M / (2*k)]*ln([M*g + k*v^2] / [M*g]). So if you really want to nerd out, Jeff was about a 12lbs baby at the attempt of the flight. Needless to say, he didn't get too far and fell back to the doomed planet of Earth.
So, with a failed trip, Jeff decided to stick it out here on Earth and make the best of things. Jeff was a good child growing up, rarely killing anyone running with scissors and sometimes sharing candy with strangers. Over the years he found many different ways to unleash his creative side. Painting, drawing, drawing schematics, and occasionally playing on a computer were what eventually lead Jeff to get some official schooling for his artistic side at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. After blowing up multiple schools by mixing colors that don't mix, like pink and light brown, he found his place. When schooling was complete, Jeff dawned his cape and started fighting… wait, that was Halloween. He currently works by day at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, by night… well, he does many freelance projects including Hmm… what else is there to say about Jeff? He likes beer, and I'm almost positive that is required to be a Wisconsin resident. Jeff also was an integral part of helping to start up Bored in the Basement. We used his brains and beauty to create the foundation to our website.
